Path Transitions

Greetings all, I hope you're moving into the autumn with ease. I wanted to let you know I will be making some changes in my work-life. For those of you that keep up with what I am doing, you know that I am practicing massage, as well as working towards a career in promoting death-positive culture. I have been working in the beautiful space at Wild Lotus as an independent massage therapist, but soon I will be transitioning into Merkaba Wellness Center and Spa in downtown Lawrence. They offer a variety of healing treatments such as Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Thai Massage, Reiki, Shamanic Journeying, and more. I do hope you will visit us. Grand Opening is Friday, November 25th 5pm-9pm. Get there before the damiana infused truffles are gone!

In addition, I will be joining forces with a doula service based out of KC after the new year, Samsara Doulas. I will be providing death doula support, end-of-life consulting and home funeral guidance. This year I also had the pleasure of meeting Shannon Hodges, a local home funeral guide and Hospice Social Worker. Together, we will begin to host a local chapter of The Death Cafe, an internationally recognized social group that facilitates casual and comfortable conversation around death related topics. The meetings are planned to be held at the Merkaba Wellness Center and Spa, a welcoming and safe space for all. Details on these meetings will be updated as a plan is finalized. Shannon and I will also be teaming up with The Lawrence Laboratory to teach a home funeral guidance workshop in February. Check out their website for classes, if you are not already familiar with them! http://www.thelawrencelab.com/
